  Our Facilities  
 

  • LIBRARY

  • There are excellent modern facilities available in the school library to the students and members of staff to make studies here much easier and more interesting. The two areas that affect users the most are the information technology and library facilities. The library is equipped with a high profile automation software that facilitates easy selection of books based on the choice of an individual.

    The School has two libraries - each for Senior Wing (Central Library) and Junior Wing. Both libraries provide online access to a number of abstracts on various topics, through a browser-based support of the software. The Library has a huge collection of over 15,000 books and the number is on a gradual increase. It aims at facilitating reading habits among students and provide them an atmosphere where they can sit freely, think freely and develop their analytical skills.

    It also has a collection of CDs and DVDs to support various courses interactively. The school library subscribed 45 Magazines and Journals and 10 National Dailies. Highly efficient library staff is motivating and student-friendly.

    To extend more facilities, the library is kept open till 03.00 p.m. on all working days.

  • School Library Rules
    1. Students are allowed to use the library in their respective library periods alongwith the concerned teachers and also during recess.
    2. One Reader Ticket is issued to students of class V to VIII. Two Reader Tickets are issued to students of classes IX onwards.
    3. Books are checked at the time of issueing. Any damage is reported immediately. In case of loss/damage of book, the students have to pay the printed price on the latest edition of the book in question.
    4. Books are returned on due date mentioned on the issue label. A fine of Rs. 1/- per day is imposed on any book returned after the due date. Books overdue are returned only during recess.
    5. Reader’s ticket is not transferable. The students is solely responsible for the books borrowed against his ticket. A duplicate ticket may be issued only on payment of Rs. 10.00
  • LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE

  • The School Library houses an open access computer room called Learning Resource Centre, available to all students and members of faculty. It has 15 dedicated computers for on-line access of Information from the vast collection of world wide web.

    All systems are connected via a network with support for Intranet, Internet and email services. The supporting software allows Information Systems and other students to gain a familiarity with a variety of topics ranging from academic to co-curricula. The students also avail this facility for on-line international projects like Montage India by British Council and IAYP projects.

  • INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

  • The onus for shrinking the entire world to the size of a small family should go to none other than the intelligent chap called computer. To keep our wizards abreast with the latest technology, OPJMS has two workplaces for computer students where they have a rendezvous with Pentium. Our students, from class-I onwards, are given preliminary exposure to the fascinating and astonishing 'World of Computers'. All the equipments in the labs are upgraded with multimedia facilities. An online network of workstations and knowledge makes learning fast and convenient for students. Each student is given an opportunity to work on a single system.

  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE LABORATORY
  • In the changing scenario of the dynamic world, it has become imperative for all the educational institutions to cater to the need of the students in particular and society in general. Leaning English Language – that has attained the status of international language – can provide a solution to combat the intricacies of this dynamic world successfully. Retaining its pioneering spirit, OP Jindal Modern School is the first in Hisar to take a lead in this direction by setting up English language lab which was once the sole prerogative pf the best universities and colleges of India. English Language Lab aims at facilitating the learning of second language and hone the fundamental skills of English language i.e. listening and speaking of the students. Equipped with the modern gazettes of latest technology like Teacher and Student Consoles, Headphones, Audio Visual Aids etc.; language laboratory exposes the students to the second language and provide them various opportunities to speak, comprehend and internalize English language like its native speakers. The emphasis is laid on learning the nuances of pronunciations, stress, intonation and accent to endow the students with such accomplishments as would augment their oratorical skills and confidence to confront interviews and group discussions for various jobs and higher studies which would consequently lead to amelioration of their prospects for better placements and open up new vistas for them in the country and around the world.

  • MATHEMATICS LABORATORY

  • The Mathematics Laboratory is one of the most advanced and unique facilities of the school. The mathematics laboratory is equipped with high end computers, advanced software and facilities where the students are made to work on carefully designed activities and projects which enable them to see the relevance of Mathematics to real life. It helps in developing the skills like sharing, thinking, reasoning and analysis skills.

  • SCIENCE LABORATORIES
    To provide a practical approach to learning and complement the conventional stereo type classroom environment, the school has well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories. Students are provided with requisite aids for the project and practical work that will help in 'learning by doing'. The school has a separate Junior Science Laboratory specifically designed to cater to students upto class eight.



  • ART AND CRAFT

  • In addition to these, well-equipped Photography, Electronics and Home Science Laboratories are provided to augment the variety of activities beyond academics. OP Jindal Modern School students have always been fascinated with the things happening around them. (Besides keen observation, they want to retain them for their archive.) To capture everything happening around, the school has a photography laboratory where the students work towards the creation of shades of their choice. The electronics department serves to satiate the curiosity of the child that is very natural in the modern electronic world, while it also trains them into the management of simple electronic complexities through work on devices in the electronic laboratory.

  • AUDIO VISUAL ROOM

  • The audio-visual room is a place where the students of all classes experience learning in an effective way. The audio-visual method appeals most to the senses. It leaves a deeper impact as it involves greater attention in the act of learning.
    Jindal Modern School also has access to the educational, primarily the scientific channels of the world wide television network. The school has a fully furnished and well maintained video room and has a wide collection of educational and library videopaedia. Here, our aspirants watch sundry topics through computers, CDs, video cassettes, OHPs, LCDs etc.

  • SICK BAY

  • Special care is taken to ensure good health of the children. A full time doctor looks after the children.
    The school clinic is furnished with all necessary instruments and required medicines. However, in cases of emergency the concerned child is shifted to Jindal Hospital.
    Medical check-up of students at stipulated intervals is integrated is the school programme



  • CAFETERIA

  • The school has a spacious and spick-and-span cafeteria to provide refreshment to the students and staff. The standard of food in quality and quantity is absolutely good. Less oily, nutritious eatables are provided under hygienic conditions. The quality of the food items served at the cafeteria and its neatness is constantly monitored by a team of teachers.

  • TRANSPORT

  • School has its own fleet of buses which ply on the routes decided by the school. The routes and pickup points are displayed on the notice board of the school. Parents desirous of availing this facility indicate their willingness in the appropriate column in the admission form.
    It is the sole responsibility of a parent to escort their ward to and from from the fixed bus stops. The bus facility is extended to the parents at their risk and responsibility. The child can be debarred from availing the facility, in case of indiscipline.
