Educational Visit to Gorakhpur Nuclear Power PlantDate: 2 September 2026An educational visit to the Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana (GHAVP), Fatehabad was organised for 83 students of Classes 10G, 10H and 10J, accompanied by six faculty members. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to nuclear power generation, industrial safety practices and the real-world application of scientific concepts studied in the classroom.The visit began with an informative film on nuclear energy, radiation safety and the role of atomic power in sustainable development. This was followed by a guided tour of working models, where plant executives explained the functioning of reactor cores, turbine systems and electricity distribution.An engaging session on nuclear safety helped students understand the multi-layered safety and containment systems used at the plant and dispelled common misconceptions about nuclear energy. The interactive question-and-answer session provided students an opportunity to clarify their queries directly with the experts.The visit was marked by excellent hospitality and meticulous organisation by the plant administration and staff. Overall, the excursion proved to be an enriching experiential learning opportunity, broadening students’ scientific perspectives and deepening their understanding of nuclear technology and clean energy.
